Ms. Covarrubias is an educator, team leader, and mentor based in Kailua, HI, with a deep passion for guiding middle schoolers through some of the most pivotal years of their lives. With over a decade and a half of teaching experience—including her current role as a middle school math teacher. She holds a Master’s in Secondary STEM Education and specializes in making math accessible, inclusive, and engaging for diverse learners. Her broad background includes serving as Faculty Chair, mentoring new educators, and leading cross-cultural learning programs.

At the heart of her work is a commitment to adolescent growth and community building. Ms. Covarrubias sees teaching math not just as delivering content, but as a way to help young people build critical thinking skills, resilience, and self-belief.
